How many times have we wished we could put an old head on new shoulders? I know my life would have been different if I only knew back then what I know now. Of course our children need to live and learn thorugh their own experiences and we don't want to stifle their new ideas and ways of being. However, there is room for parents, grandparents and teachers to share the life experiences and the insights that come from the wisdom of hindsight to inspire our youth to be the best version of themselves they can be. Here are some of our life insights 1. Its OK to be me... I dont have to be like others to be liked or fit in. 2. Be kind to yourself. Listen for any limiting beliefs, negative self talk or negative overgeneralisations and replace them with more empowering thoughts and beliefs. 3. Have a vision, follow your dream but know that it could get rocky on the way and that like the "little engine that could" being resilient and persistent, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, is the way to personal growth and success. Life is filled with ups and downs and while we can't control what happens around us - we can learn how to find strength inside and manage what happens within us 4. Be kind and, at least be open to, listening to your parents. They are your biggest cheer leaders and while it doesn't always seem that way - they have your best interest at heart...
